Walkway Auditors Help Businesses Across the Country

June 10, 2015 by Safer Walkways Staff 6 Comments

Walkway auditors are saving business owners across the country a lot of money by evaluating walkways and areas frequented by employees and customers. How are they doing this? These experienced and certified inspectors are able to evaluate whether flooring has enough traction to reduce the risk of slip and fall accidents and are making recommendations to business owners depending on what they find.

Different flooring has variations of slip resistance that can range from low traction to moderate traction to high traction. The higher the traction, the less likely it is that someone would slip on the flooring surface. Traction that is too low is a potential hazard to foot traffic and can lead to injury. In many cases, an employee or customer slip and fall event turns into a lawsuit that isn’t good for any business. An experienced walkway auditor can help business owners identify problem areas before that happens.

Here are just a few of the benefits a walkway auditor can provide business owners:

  • Confirms the flooring is appropriate for the facility use.
  • Evaluates the current condition of the walkway.
  • Performs tests that measure flooring traction.
  • Identifies areas that raise the risk of slips.
  • Advises on any steps needed to improve flooring traction.
  • Schedules regular audits, if desired.
  • Provides a thorough report for business documentation purposes.

Business owners across the country call in experts for all types of inspections, checkups and evaluations, from plumbing and electric to carpet cleaners and shipping companies. Doesn’t it make sense to call in a walkway auditor to ensure that the walkways of the workplace meet all safety standards and won’t cause any injuries in the future? All types of companies, large or small, can benefit from the expert eye of a walkway inspector, yet businesses all across the country all too frequently ignore this valuable service.

Don’t wait to schedule a walkway audit until after someone has slipped, tripped or fallen. Do your customer and your employees a great service and contact a walkway auditor near you.
